There is just one problem that I keep running into.
I realize that a fix would probably be impossible at this point, but I'd like to point this out anyway.
I am playing on a Vita with the combination of Arca and Kagerou, if that's at all relevant.
When I go into my Personal Room and go through the following submenus:
    Personal Room
    Ally
    Arca (or any other character)
    Skill
    Acquire Skill

A red transparent bar runs across the middle of the screen, with white lettering that states:
    FsFont.cpp(288) :EntStr ()
    entry over

The game music keeps playing, but none of the buttons do anything, except for the PS buttion, which I use to close the game.
We've been able to reproduce this now and are working on a fix, but with Sony closing next week, the fix won't be up until the middle of Jan at the earliest. Meanwhile, try acquiring a skill with a different character, and it should clear up for all of them. You may have to keep trying other characters as they join before you get a "good" one, but fortunately you get quite a few by Chapter 2.

Hey, Vic, and everyone else. I've been a lurking around these parts for awhile and finally decided it was time to commit. First things first, thank you for getting Summon Night 5 into my hands. You and your staff are miracle workers!

I've been enjoying this game greatly, but managed to run into a problem. When I select "Acquire Skill" in the skill submenu I get an error that reads: "FsFont.cpp (288) :EntStr() entry over". I've tried re-downloading a fresh copy from PSN, via my PS3 and PlayStation TV, and get the same error on both PSP and PSTV. Below is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

Edit: Seems I was beaten to punch on reporting this. Will try what you suggested, Vic

Edit 2: I was able to find my "good" one in the form of Cyda (and I thought she couldn't get any better!). Souken also works as well.

Edit 3: The issue has returned for some odd reason.

Thank you for the quick reply!
    A few more details:
When trying to acquire skills from the Personal Room, it does the same thing with every character. (Beginning of chapter 3)
I first noticed the problem during chapter 2, when I accessed the "Acquire Skill" for the first time using the method I mentioned in my previous post. I currently have 2 save files, one at the beginning of chapter 3, and one at the start of the chapter 2 battle. I have found that when I attempt to acquire skills before entering into that chapter 2 battle, the tutorial pops up just fine and I'm able to continue on with acquiring skills. So, there's another method for anyone else with the issue.

I appreciate that you gave me a timeline. No hurry, I'm sure you're doing everything you can. ^_^

Though I'm curious, is this a PSP emulating on a Vita problem, or will it happen on the PSP UMDs as well? If you are unable to answer this, that's fine.

Update: The problem also occurs when attepting to do the same thing via the Owner's shop.

We're still investigating the issue and the solution, but if it's a PSP UMD issue, we'll halt the process and fix the UMD image before the manufacture since putting out a UMD with a known crash bug is unacceptable.

Has anyone found a work around for this past Chapter 3? I'm currently on chapter 4 and hadn't gone into the skill screen at all, (don't know why) before seeing this post, but no matter who I choose I get the error. Choosing Souken or Cyda gets the "Tutorial" message to pop up, but once I try to move to the next page, the error occurs. I have a save file in Chapter 1 where I can proceed past this... but I kind don't want to redo the past 3 chapters. May just try to brute force my way through...

Update - So I had actually upgraded skills prior. Did it for Spinel. But I assume upgrading Cross abilities requires less menu navigation than Summoners.

Are you doing this in your room or in pre-battle? Pre-battle is more likely to do this, but you might try some of the side missions in the Eucross and see if the prebattle there allows it. It's a weird bug, but I'm surprised we literally never had it happen in testing.

It happens when I try to access it through the shop or my room. I had a save at the start of the Chapter 3 battle and was able to bypass this bug through Souken so I'm good now. Everything seems to be working properly in Ch. 4 now, but if I see anything else weird, I 'll be sure to report.

Since you never came across it before when testing the game, maybe it's related to the compression method used by Sony? Can the error be recreated on the uncompressed version as well?

No, we can reproduce it in the image file on the dev system once we knew how to trigger it (the youtube video someone posted helped). The PSN compression is lossless, it just takes out air in the disc image, so it's not a factor. Just weird that we never had it happen in testing, but you get set in your ways of playing, even if you tell yourself to try not to.
