Creating a List of Turn-Based Tactical JRPGs
Hey Gaijin Outpost,
The other day while thinking about how much I enjoy games like Shining Force, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, and (of course) Summon Night 5, I had the great(stupid) idea to compile a list of all Japanese developed turn-based tactical RPGs that have received a physical release in the North America region on console or handheld (no PC). I've done what I can so far with cobbling together a list, but am in need of help for it to be reviewed for errors and omissions. Since a majority of the games I haven't played, and have been listed based on wikipedia descriptions, I may have listed some games that don't actually belong and please let me know if you see any. I was also previously including non-Japanese developed games in the list, but have since decided to not include them, so also let me know if you notice any of those still lingering on the list. Last but not least I'm looking for games I have missed. I'm sure I have missed a few, especially during the 8 and 16 bit era, as I've been having a tough time confirming what games actually had tactical RPG elements or were just strategy only games. Thanks for any and all help!

You're missing a lot of Koei titles (especially in the 8 and 16-bit eras, as you mentioned). It would be easier to refer you to this than to start listing them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono...gy_video_games
. . . or you can just cover everything you're missing in general here:
http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.h...etter=&search=
and/or here:
http://www.mobygames.com/browse/game...06/list-games/
. . . though it might be difficult to weed out what was developed in Japan if you don't already know or aren't familiar with all such developers/publishers historically.
