After the E3 2016 thread, it looked like a good idea to create a general thread for the type of smaller gaming that until now mostly got posted in the Collector's Cove and such.

In a recent 4Gamer interview with the King of Fighters 14 development team, something very interesting was shared with readers. Sprites for the long since cancelled SNK fighter Garou Mark of the Wolves 2 were finally revealed.

A sequel to the beloved Fatal Fury title was first mentioned back in 2005, and over the years there have been rumblings about its development. Unfortunately, the game never quite came to fruition.

Today, however, we get to see what some of the characters were going to look like if the game had saw an actual release. The image below shows mainstay characters like Rock, Terry, and Tizoc, as well as some of the newer fighters who were set to join the battle.

This interview with the KOF14 devs is seemingly packed with information, and we'll have a translated version of it as soon as we can.

Garou is an awesome game. The game is one of my favorite fighters in my Dreamcast collection.

Garou, Last Blade 2, Kof 02, Kof 98. Those are the best DC fighters. Anything else is below those imo.

I have Evolution. I need to pick up '99. Not sure why I don't have it. I thought that I did at one time, but maybe played it with my friends.

Outside of the games that you mentioned, Capcom Vs. SNK games are among my favorites. Really love the Marvel Vs. Capcom games, and the Powerstone series.

There is still something special about SoulCalibur. Hard to believe that such a technical marvel was a domestic launch title, and a superior port of an arcade game on PS hardware.

Hard to believe that a single system had so many superb fighting games at the time.

A Dreamcast version titled The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999

Yeah to be fair, I forgot about Capcom vs SNK 2001 because I haven't played it in some time. Very good fighter though. I'm pretty lukewarm on the MVC series, but I def prefer the 2nd to the first. Power Stone is a fun series, but it's not um, tactical. So I classify them differently, similar to Smash Bros.

Oh yeah. MVS is going to be one of my next machines. I briefly toyed with the idea of buying an Arcadeworks Omega a few days ago, but that didn't last long. I want a 4-slot arcade machine.
