What Nintendo should do is make a program for their MyNintendo stuff, reserve 1 system for those qualified members who are actively buying their stuff, since this is obviously a "special edition" thing and not a mass produced thing.
If there was a time in which Nintendo's website would be useful it would be now.
The only reason I really want an SNES Classic is that it's the closest thing to a licensed/physical version of Earthbound I can maybe get at this point.
I will be pretty bummed if it ends up that I can't get it without paying around the price Earthbound on SNES goes for.
I'd gladly pay $200 for it if I miss out on pre-orders, but I imagine it will sell for more from resellers.
$180 tops for me and only if I couldnt find it 6 months after it came out, for now, $100 tops for me.
I am never going to give scalpers anything :P
Buying from a scalper means they have a business, and since I'm against that... yeah.
But even then, what if everyone did the same as I do and scalpers still got 10,000 consoles each, and waited 6 months to sell anyway?
I think I wouldnt EVER give scalpers anything more than 20%. Forget what I said about $180
I got my NES Classic super luckily at Walmart, there was only 1 left and they were about to close the store :O no one cared except the cashier who told me she was gonna get it if I hadn't... made me a bit sad since she looked really nice.
At this point I would have just settled for the Famicom Mini, which I also have now anyway.
That's a standard eBay preorder rule, from back when the PayPal claim window was like 45 days. If you could scam somebody into preordering months early, you could simply never send them anything, and the buyer couldn't get their money back or even leave feedback because all the windows elapsed
None of that works anymore because claim windows are like 180 days or something now.
Just ebay acting like they care. Just wait.
Remove sellers that are reported enough, or just quit pretending that it's against their policy. They don't really care as long as they are getting their cut.
