Was on my XP desktop, which has what's likely a crappy audio card. So maybe that's part of the issue.
Thanks for the link. I don't see either of the vintage tables I have listed on it though. I think the one is better than what I had tried to use in my post. But it needs the belt replaced. Which I'll get to one of these days.
So connecting from headphone out to mic input is ok? I'm sure it's not ideal. Guessing I'd need some decive otherwise.
Yes but you'll almost certainly need to boost the level unless the table has a built-in preamp. If it doesn't and you've got a receiver with a phono input and tape/record out that should work.
Quoting myself to keep it on the current page.
Yeah, that all makes sense. I just have little frame of reference since I "graduated" from CDs to vinyl a long time ago and consider digital anything inferior to vinyl. I've never been a fan of listening to music on portable devices/on the go, so I never had a need for vinyl to be more convenient, though I see how that would be beneficial to some.
Vinyl degrades over time/when you play it so there is that.

Find a spec sheet? I believe you should be fine plugging it into a line input (ie. 'CD' or 'tape'). Either you'll get audio around your usual listening levels (built-in) or you won't.
Edit: Z can confirm whether or not I'm being dumb here but I'm pretty sure I'm correct.
