If I'm going to be honest, I don't even have 1080p. Planning to something new soon though.

Gotta keep selling TVs, right!? When everyone has 1080p and 4k, what else will you do? 3D was a flop and 120 Hz got nowhere. The HDMI group makes LOTS of money when you buy new cables and TVs. That's why it also take a new cable, by the way.

That's kind of surprising Z man. The two LCD sets I use with any frequency are both 1080p.

I am looking to get newish Lumagen Radiance processor but I need one to pop up on Ebay for an acceptable price first.*

The bottleneck will always be the content, and you can only remaster stuff so much. I got a 4K TV only recently because I feel like it is kind of hedging my bets for the next 5-8 years or so that I expect the TV to last.

I hate spending money. I'd rather spend it on other things, like designer jeans. ;P

No. I just have other priorities. Not like TVs aren't cheap. I just don't play a lot of games that make use of 1080p anyway and I'm old-school in the sense that I can't just throw away a TV that works perfectly well.

Organic jeans* Also don't forget large quantities of kale.

I'm actually in the process of getting some tvs out of the house right now. Most thrift stores won't even take tube tvs at this point. Probably because they price them too high and don't differentiate at all between crap and good ones. I'm trying to give some away via CL and facebook, I'd really hate to have to throw them out.

    Old Yeller.
Take em out back and say goodbye.

Weird, I see lots at thrifts here. And they don't have a clue either. I don't think any thrift has much idea of any of the products they carry.

Yeah I'm assuming most won't take them because they struggle to sell them. The one thrift I really like will take them if they are 27 inches or less so I'll probably be taking a few there but trying to give away first. A couple are pretty nice trinitrons too, but I need the space.

These Beyers are all warm and snuggly. Zanith is missing out with them earbuds, and LoPpy with his lo-fi Sennheisers. Like snuggling up with a pillow-coated half stack here.

To be honest, I simply can't believe what they currently cost. They obviously don't have a sound for everyone, but they are exceptional quality for just over $100. Mostly metal, velour pads, completely replaceable parts. The highs are offensive if you crank them way the hell up with some (poorly mastered, poor DR) music, but I don't think that is the intention. They sound incredibly dynamic if that's what you look for in music. They bring out all of the stuff that you miss in most headphones and feel amazing.

As mentioned previously, my only real complaint is the cord. It's not good for a computer desk. Taking care of that tomorrow though, and eventually I might mod most of my heaphones with AKG-styled mini XLR to 1/4" cables.
