I though the original theatrical cuts were already destroyed/altered into SEs by lucas.

I had heard they were lost to time as well, basically the best version they have available is the LaserDisc version which what they have used for later releases. Personally I have a hard time believing all the original film prints are lost, so I feel like there has to be something else going on.
Plenty of other movies/shows have been restored just fine so I just can't see there being any real problem on that part of it. With not really having to deal with Lucas having his head up his *** it should be feasable atleast on 5&6. Would think whoever has a say with 4 would just let it happen now as it's an easy money maker.
Ok, I have a question for those of you who do a good amount of buying/selling online, especially of audio equipment. I have an old Pioneer tube amp in great shape that I've been informed is worth about $3000. I've just been using it to power some subs for the last 12 years or so, and I don't use it that often. I got the thing for like $200 back then, so really not worth using it as I am. There's not much of a craiglist presence or anything of the sort around here. How would you recommend going about selling this thing? And if mailing, how do you even package something like this so it doesn't get damaged all to hell in transport?
I'd think there has to be some website/fb/etc of enthusiasts.
I'd think you need the best shipping with marked as fragile, this side up, etc. And insured.
If it's a fragile issue...I'd try to avoid selling it online but the problem remains your local market is small. You might look into more expensive courier options that would handle it right. Pricey, but we are talking about a $3,000 item so it's probably a good idea.
Like people that work for USPS, UPS or Fedex can read?

USPS won't insure that high. Not sure on the others.

You could try Audiogon or some of the enthusiast forums. Head-fi is a pretty lame as a site and they've turned the forum into a mess but you'd probably get the most interest there.
Shipping would depend on size and you'd want to pull all the tubes and pack them separately. Whether or not you'd need to ship separate would also depend on size and weight.
Edit: You could always sell to me (for about $200) (I am legitimately interested if you don't care about the value.).
