I might have bought the system for Phantom Dust. Bullet dodged!

I think that you pretty much called it. Personally I think that Platinum is being stretched thin. They've got several teams working on several games now, because people know what they are capable of. The problem is, companies like Activision have shown us that they don't want to pay for the content. They get the great engine and gameplay, but that is only part of the game.
Scorpio is supposed to be a powerhouse, but it's not enough for me.
About the only thing that could sell XBox 360 for me is an announcement about Lost Odyssey 2. We'll see soon. Mistwalker has something on the way, but I doubt that's it.
And this is someone who loved the 360 and enjoys the XBox as a recent pickup for a retro console. I'm doubting that there is much of a future for the platform in today's market. I'm no Sony fanatic but they've been making all of the right moves this generation.
I thought the original xbox was pretty bad console compared to its competitors, but it did some positive things, the first real decent online interface on consoles. And it had some stellar games like KoToR I and II, Halo I and II, Forza, Phantom Dust, Fable, Call of Chutulu. Although it was seriously lacking on the jrpg front, I can only think of two both of which are unplayable for different reasons, PSO which cant be played because the xbox version was online only unlike the gamecube version, and Sword & Magic which just a bad game.
The 360 was actually a really good system, and had some great jrpgs with Record of Agarest War, Phantasy Star Universe, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia. I still give a slight edge to the ps3 in this gen, but the 360 was a proper console.
The xbox one apparently was like, hey guys remember when the 360 had a bunch of JRPG, well f that suckas. Then there is a lack of decent exclusives, and then cancellation of one of the few remaining good ones. Also this is just a personal opinion, but I hate the xbox one interface, I had the stupid snapping and unsnapping of windows, its just really user unfriendly compared to the 360.
The original Xbox was a fine console who cares if it didn't really have one particular genre of games? It still had a lot of good games on it.
I would agree though PS4 kicks XBone's ass in terms of good exclusives. Hell the Wii U probably does too even though Nintendo is already abandoning it.
Bad media connoisseur and frequent avatar changer.
JRPGs aren't exactly mass system sellers.
Scalebound looked great. Massive creatures, riding a dragon. A possible true successor to Panzer Dragoon (Crimson Dragon was rough).
It seems like something that could and probably will get picked up at some point for release elsewhere.
I'd say that depends on how far along development was and how involved Microsoft was.
It looked interesting, would have bought it along with an XB1 in a distant future.
