I honestly don't think its that bad. Except for the price. Should be 99.99 to make sense. I personally like the idea better than the original 2DS since it folds up. Although I do have a blue 2DS and like it...

This isn't even a 2DS. At least it explains why they haven't been shipping more originals. I like the original better than 3DS.

It's an 2DS version of a clamshell New 3DS XL. It only displays 2D.

What can I say... I actually like the design and price!
But I'd like to see how tough it feels in person. My New 3DS feels like an advanced but delicate machine that I don't like for a kid.

Now, REALISTICALLY...
THIS is what they've been working on that prevented Nintendo from making more NES Classics because they officially complained about resources.
All the resources used in this could have went towards the NES Classic.

I mean think about it, this New 2DS XL thing could have waited until they can actually sell something like this for $99 as DinoDerek suggested, and it would make total sense.

It's MSRP is $50 less than the New 3DSXL. (and it includes a charger unlike the N3DSXL) Savings I would definitely appreciate since I never use the 3D feature anyway.

But I'm not liking the design much.
The striped top is reminiscent of those weird kid's electronic game devices you see in drugstores around Christmas. And the way the hinge is positioned looks really ugly to me. I greatly prefer the look of the N3DSXL.

If mine were to break, I don't know which model I'd replace it with.
