Replacement Sega Saturn, Sega CD, PS1 Longbox Cases available! (Not LRG)

Kinda weird timing here.

Some guy just did a run of 10,000 (to spec) Sega Saturn (Sega CD, PS1 long aswell) cases

This includes the front, back and center tray.

$40 for 10

I imagine these will go really fast. I actually don't mind the price if they are spot on. I guess the molds are super expensive which is why no one had done this yet.

Limited Run Games just announced not long ago they will be selling these as well through their new website. But there won't be a limited supply. It seemed like LRG said each mold (for each piece) was in the 10k plus range. But they also mentioned they were being made in the US as to not have Chinese manufacturers just do their own runs on the side.

So this makes me wonder how this guy had 10,000 made around the same time LRG is supposed to announce theirs (they said March)

Either way Ive been waiting years for someone to do this. Sega Saturn games look so good with shiny, non scuffed cases. $4 is worth it to replace if the quality is exact.

I'm interested. But I'm going to wait till somebody gets some in hand and comments on the quality before I go to the trouble of importing them.

Perhaps. But I'm guessing if these are coming from multiple sources now there's no worry about them truly running out anytime soon.

Let us know what you think once you get that order. From what I saw on past weeks, LRG is really trying to get the most accurate reproduction of the old cases. Josh is extremely OCD about that.

Yes, Josh seems to be taking it personal which I love. He also said LRG is considering a thicker more premium case for extra.

But of course as a Saturn guy I need 100% accurate feel. I think LRG said the only thing different will be the missing Compact disc logo on the inside tray that was owned by Phillips or someone.

I have a small feeling the ones this guy is selling on Amazon might be cheaper feeling plastic.

Kind of how you can't find the original PS1 jewel cases anymore.

Quite an interesting development to be sure. I'll wait for other reviews to come in on them first as well, I'm really not hurting on original cases anyway and pretty much all my games that came in longboxes originally are already in nice shape since I've been slowly replacing them over the years as I collected games.

Yeah all my long case games are in pretty good shape, but I might be interested in a ten pak if the quality is good. I have more of a problem with the Japanese PS1 game cases, I have a few cracked ones on those.

Id say Im pretty similar at this point. Im obsessed with nice shiny long cases so generally over time ive replaced most all of them.

However if they are exactly 100% to spec I may change out some of my lesser common titles cases that are so-so
