All LRG does is put finished digital games onto a disc, in a box, pack and fulfill, then ship.

LRG doesn't translate, rewrite, record voices, piece it all back together, debug, decide art variants/rarity, create a manual from pretty much scratch, collectors editions (LRG does some CE but pale by comparison) pack and fulfill orders, and I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.

Gaijinworks does a lot more work than LRG. But GW also always has delays.

That's not to say I dont like LRG. As a physical-media-only consumer, I'm so glad LRG and others are working hard to delay the inevitable digital-only future. I hope LRG can go on forever! GW too!

Don't downplay the fact that they have to deal with a lot of asshat collectors though. That's got to make it more work than it needs to be. But they did create this segment of the market, after all, so it's on them.

Funny story. My not super wealthy brother just got an Xbone for Christmas. We hooked it up for him and booted it up, in the initial configuration it asked what kind of internet connection it was getting, wireless or wired. None was not an option. My not super wealthy brother does not have a home internet connection. There was no way to skip the option or back out. The system was basically an expensive brick.
One of us broke down and turned data tethering on a phone on, and gave it the 1GB update it demanded with overpriced phone data.

Honestly, I can see home internet connections going the way of home phones. They aren't necessary anymore, you can easily check your email with an inexpensive phone plan. Always online consoles are going to exclude themselves a very real market share.

How many times do you have to say not super wealthy? 

Anyways, my phone plan from like 2009, just got offered 50gb free hotspot usage a month.

I have a really cheap phone plan because I don't finance phones in the plan. I just buy inexpensive phones from Amazon. Unlimited data.

I am surprised that you can't just let the Xbox try to connect and fail, then update later, but they probably are making it mandatory in order to keep it locked down with forced security updates.

I don't finance/lease either. Though I'm tempted to. I have an iPhone SE I just purchased (used) for $120 in August. I like how compact and small it is and if I need to view something larger, i'll use my iPad.

Still using my SE with pay for year. Still happy with phone. Size was one reason I wanted it. Data is really all I use.

Whoever wanted the x1 needs smacked. And who bought it needs smacked too.
    Get a ps4.

I lost a lot of respect for LRG after getting Caladrius Blaze. The book was full of mistakes and Engrish and they didn't (or couldn't) fix any of it.
