They keep claiming this is not just a port. But that's a load of horse ****. If they are showing it off in this state, it's not going to be significantly different on release.
And the audio quality for Grandia II keeps getting worse when it's easy to fix that problem. ( I fixed it myself several years ago with the 2014 port. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil.../?id=673761272)
They say they aren't bothering with the audio, which adds more to the "We don't want to admit this is just a port".

And for anyone curious here's some visual comparisons of the original DC version resolution matched to the 2014 AE port (Vanilla with no mods or anti aliasing)

And you can see, aside from the mismash of low-res and high res UI assets (And upscaled ones) they really haven't done any "remastering" to Grandia II other than make it widescreen. Which will bring with it even more problems I doubt they will fix.

I've tried to reach out to GungHo and Sickhead games to offer my replacement audio files for Grandia II, but no luck so far.
You must be the same guy who was ranting and raving years ago about how bad the ground textures were on the PS1 version compared to the Saturn version. AMIRITE?

Grandia 2 isn't really a very good game anyway. Barely above C-Tier. Can't speak much for the first game because I've not played much of it.

Yeah, the ports are based off the PS1 versions as well.

Either way I'm still excited about the re-release though.

Yeah. Now that it's confirmed digital only I won't bother.

If I do end up playing the game I will just play it on PS1.

I'm sure you're right about them not planning to fix things. I'm guessing it'd take an overwhelming number of refund requests or complaints to get them to address problems let alone fix them. Too many people accept bad ports because they're used to the console schlock. They're also conditioned to not be critical of technical elements for fear of being seen as "elitist".
