I personally preferred XBox 360 to PS3. Better versions of cross-platform games that could run right from the DVD (except for GTA5). Better controller. Most of the exclusives that I wanted early in the generation.
PS4 was my go-to this generation. I've got no problems alternating between platforms if they have the games that I want. I still think that Sony has never made a good controller. DS4 was close but I've still got issues with it. DS5 doesn't look like much has changed since it still has the bad thumbstick positioning and the giant useless touchpad and bad location of the PS button.
I think it's gonna come down to price, and Microsoft will probably be able to price it lower than Sony can.
It's pretty much just a game of chicken until one reveals a price.
Sanity is the Lie, There is only Madness.
I'll wait 2-3 years until there are better games, and the console is redesigned. Only console I got relatively soon after release was Switch, November 2017
I won't bother with either. It's been cute seeing the "magic console sauce" being advertised like they have special hardware that can't be bested. The design and specs (max clock of 3.5ghz) of the Piss5 have me expecting poor cooling yet again. I get that they have to squeeze the margin pennies but is it so hard to spend an extra few dollars on a box with appropriate cooling and replaceable or cleanable filters?
I wonder if the "magic" PS5 SSD (with it's only advertised spec being a peak read) is going to be incorporated on the board or a regular NVME slot like the expansion slot is? I presume it'll be non-removable so no one can benchmark its performance.
Well, I liked it, but I'm not getting it any time soon. Still a lot to play on my PS4.
A 25-year-old problem, I see.
