Petition to include Working Designs games on the U.S. Genesis Mini 2
Hello,
I am writing this post in an attempt to get the Working Designs translations, of the four Sega CD titles they published, onto the U.S. version of the Sega Genesis Mini 2. If you have been keeping up with the news on this console, Popful Mail, published by Nihon Falcom in Japan was announced at launch for the Japanese console. Lunar: The Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue, published by Game Arts in Japan, have recently also been added to the lineup for the Japanese console.
Now, while I understand the omissions of games like 'Majandojo' and 'Harimanada' from the US release - it would appear that Working Designs, or whoever owns the IP of Working Designs (in this case, I assume it is still Victor Ireland, unless I am mistaken) is actively preventing the re-publication of these exceedingly rare experiences in the U.S. It is at this point to Working Designs discredit that these games have not been put together into one complete package - and I used to believe that was maybe due to bad blood between Game Arts and Nihon Falcom, but now that does not appear to be the case.
The U.S. console was just announced, and more games have been revealed for the Japanese console than the U.S., but already no inclusion of Popful Mail is a huge red flag that Working Designs does not want to be a part of this project, and does not wish to see these games released in the future.
If I am mistaken, please let me know how.

The US list is most likely already finalized by now, even if they haven't revealed the entire lineup. Petitions aren't going to do a thing. It would be nice if the Lunars were included in English

It is pretty baffling considering the TG-16 mini had games on it that WD published in English (though nothing to the effect of what they did on SCD).
The lack of Snatcher, and the WD published games that are present on the JP version of the console takes this from an instant buy (Despite any emulation issues) to pretty much a hard pass at this point. The ability to have a way to legally play these games decently without spending thousands of dollars would be so great. :/
I mean, I could spend thousands of dollars no problem but it's not worth the money and **** collectors. If I could go back and tell young broke me who sold their games to be able to afford to buy new games to not do it...

Lunar 1 and 2 are the most important games to me that could be re-released on this!!
However, in a way, I am glad it didn't make it to the USA system, given it's supposedly a very limited release. I do not want Lunar in a thing that's gonna be more rare than the Sega CD games themselves >.> what's the point of having Lunar here if none of my friends can buy it?
If it was a really big production run though, that would have made it worth it.
Anyway, we should still push this petition for Working Designs. If they ever bring SCD and PS1 Lunar games to new consoles/PC, now THAT would be a real shame if they don't make it in english.
And I don't want a re-translation. I want exactly what Working Designs did, word by word.

What do you mean limited? It’s still available to preorder on Amazon.com (from Amazon Japan). Unless you mean after the fact, but that’s what preordering is for.
