I own IV and V, but haven't touched them yet. In fact I've never even played a Suikoden game. Neither did I ever try a Wild Arms game.

*blasphemy alert* I tend to prefer Wild Arms but both are solid series. *end blasphemy alert*

III used to be pretty expensive but I think it was reprinted. I got my copy for $9. I think realistic value now is about $25. If you do want Growlanser Generations (I don't think it was released in Europe, obviously WD did the US localization) lmk.

To me, Suikoden II is the legendary game in the franchise while the rest are "good". III is a well made PS2 JRPG but the battle system was kind of stupid IMO. IV was slowed down by those damn long boat rides but still a solid game. V felt like an attempt to get back to the glory days of the series but it didn't have as much heart. I definitely wouldn't call it bad though.

I've honestly enjoyed every single game in the series, including Tierkreis.

Wild Arms 1 is the one Wild Arms game I would recommend over all the others but I imagine combat looks a bit rough if you play it on the PS1. I consider it a classic but I have to admit I haven't played it in a long time.

Having played all the games, I think Alter Code F is a much better version of the first game than the original PSX release. The first one is littered with stiff and bad translations, and puzzles where the hints have been obfuscated rather heavily. Just my opinion though.

Oh and Wiley, I bet they opened the box and just thought it was bread and decided not to charge you :P

I'd say the PSX version has a VASTLY superior OST compared to the remake though. Its not that the remakes OST is bad, its just no where near as memorable.

Suikoden III is very good. I don't have the game any more but I recently found old PS2 memory cards and I still have my save on it of like 162 hours at the end of the game with all the characters and such.

I remember when Suikoden 3 came out it was hard to find. But I finally found it at a local store for $55 and on the way home there was a huge snow storm with zero visibility and my car veered off the road lol.
