Got the NES mini and I gotta say... I didn't think it'd lag as bad as it does playing most games. I'm sure the original games had their fair share of slowdown issues, but some are barely playable with the extreme slowdown or minor freezing.

I got a little slogged with the level grinding at the end of SF3-3, so I have been playing the **** out of Octopath, and enjoying it a lot. Difficulty jumps at times are both annoying and satisfying. I really like a lot of the things they did with this game. Not to mention I think it's gorgeous and the soundtrack is fantastic imo.

I recently entered an area of "Difficulty Level 35". My guys are all like 35-37, so... speaking of difficulty jumps? The standard enemies are easy. The boss at the end one-shots the team.

I saw your Amazon review lol. Yeah, I have had that problem a few times, I think I need to be better about buffs and debuffs. One of the bosses from a Ch. 3 uses only melee attacks and debuffing him to reduce his physical dmg helped a lot, reduced his dmg by 1/3, but it was still a challenging fight. He was basically 1 shotting Cyrus before hand, and as long as he didn't hit him on his 2nd attack of the round I was mostly ok.

But regardless, I am still enjoying it very much.

Oh yeah, the game's great. Even the unfair "boss goes first, goes 5 times, you lose" scenarios are par for the course with these games. I think I'd be upset if that never happened.

NO retro for awhile here. Just moved and need to get everything else set up first.

Beat Nine Parchments on Switch (multiplayer). Good hack/slash type of game.
