Daddy Nier.
Daddy Nier.
Tween Nier is for weebs.
Agreed. I had a lot of trouble wanting to get every main ending of Automata, and the original is one of my favorite games. I still have at least 1-2 endings to get in Automata, but I couldn't stop playing the original.
I don't think that they've confirmed a domestic release of Replicant, and have a hard time believing that they will do anything except for subtitle Replicant unless I hear otherwise. If they do a domestic release, they should include Replicant with subs and Gestalt with dubs and subs in order to appeal with all audiences. Nier fans outside of Japan only really experienced Gestalt. Japanese gamers had access to both. It's possible that the international version could still be Gestalt.
Edit: Sites claim it's getting a domestic release and the partially English trailer would leave us to believe this. I probably won't play it either, to be honest. Toylogic worked on that smash hit "Contra: Rogue Corps".

Games I beat within the last month to 1.5 months:
Fire Emblem Echoes (3DS)
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (DS)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (3DS)
New Super Mario Bros 2 (3DS)
My Friend Pedro (Switch)
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive (Switch)
A Plague's Tale: Innocence (PS4) - Good game, but there is zero replay value, IMO. Better to get it as cheaply as possible.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition (PS4) - After all these years (3.5 years) of waiting for Patches/DLC to roll out, I finally purchased it for $14.99 on Amazon. I'm on Chapter 4. It's okay so far--battle system is clunky, unlike FF7R. Graphics are nice, hair has that checkerbox look. Have to get used to the rest/sleep to actually level up your characters and stats.

Beat main story in FFXV. Wow, what a terrible game, made even moreso when the game doesn't go into the antagonist's actions (you have to get that information away from the story that's presented in the actual game).
Lv 45, 19:42 hours. I'd barely rate it a 7/10. Lacked soul, atmosphere, a good storyline--I even read up on the antagonist's original conflicts, this and that, battle was clunky and slow. You want a good JRPG that Square Enix has put out recently? Dragon Quest XI S (played it on Switch). Now THAT'S a modern JRPG that was AWESOME.
I'll get to the character DLC in a day or so, but I doubt that will magically make the game any better.
Crazy times when a 7/10 is a terrible game.
I still have to play it. I'm not lacking RPGs on my backlog though, so it may be a while.
Started Alliance Alive HD Remaster (Switch version) over the weekend. It's fairly decent. There is no leveling up, as traditional RPGs go. You have to receive/deal damage, and use your skills to increase your states or skill levels.
It's pretty much a straight port from the 3DS version, but gotta love how much cleaner it looks on a big screen.
Music is nothing special, the storyline is interesting. I like that you can fast forward battles to speed things up.
I'm on Chapter 16, about 5 hours in.
Still on Alliance Alive HD Remaster. Chapter 24, 8.5 hours.
Started Star Ocean First Departure R on Switch. 11 hours in, Lv 57. It's a decent port from the PSP. The random encounter rate is absolutely horrible, so I'm trying to do the skill that minimizes encounter rate. The dungeons are a chore to get through because of this and you have a lot of backtracking with no real 'fast travel'. I wonder if Second Evolution R will ever come out? That was the better game, imo. I remember playing the PS1 version.
