That's an example of the game looking bad. If you can get past that you can PROBABLY play it but there are lag issues to deal with as well.

I'm Lv 18, 5 hours in and 49% of the map uncovered. It has some framerate issues, especially when panning around a town, but the combat is fast and zippy like Ys Seven.
I can't imagine anything other than Ys Seven having started its development as a PSP game. Either that or that they sloppily recycled the old PSP Ys Seven engine. It's not exactly a looker and very similar to Seven. As for technical issues I honestly didn't have any issues outside towns. Inside towns it's choppy as hell for some reason though. Overall a great game but it had a few issues and lacked a bit of polish.
Ys 1 & 2 look and play amazingly well on the Vita. 2D PSP games on the Vita get a huge boost, the downside is the digital only part but if you get it on one of the sales you can get it for next to nothing.
It should be free or at least severely discounted if you have an actual copy of the PSP game. Too bad video games don't have proof of purchase tabs like some dvds eh...could have been a way to use them. Lol.

Beat Gas Effect 2.
VP2 has bloom lighting if I remember correctly.
Super Mario 64 holds up surprisingly well even if the camera is wonky and sometimes the controls and hit detection seem a bit off. Trying to collect 100 coins or all red coins can get a bit frustrating sometimes because it doesn't always feel like death is your fault. Really well made game though and there really wasn't anything with its scope in the same period.
Playing the DS version on the 3DS and it works very well with the circle pad. Looks stunning for a DS title too and it was a launch game. Playing on the DS with the D-pad is much worse and not something I'd really recommend.
