I'm playing in North American release order (Tear -> Prophecy -> Song) and that was probably a mistake since the two first were released in the opposite order in Japan and A Tear of Vermillion felt more refined and much better than this one. I actually enjoyed Tear even if it wasn't that special. This one is just bad though, so far. Things are starting to happen in the story at least.
I started with Moonlight Witch. One of the most boring RPGs I've played in years but I stuck with it to the end. I completely expect that the other two are better games which is why I opted for the Japanese release order. I felt obligated to get these out of the way if I'm going to ultimately play Trails in the Sky, which everyone raves about. I've got every Dragon Slayer / Legend of Heroes game up to that point, including the Japanese release of Dragon Slayer: Legend of Heroes 2, and it's my goal to play them all if they can see domestic releases.
It's unfortunately that Moonlight Witch is so bland. I almost like the characters and some of the story elements but it feels like nothing interesting ever happens. It's tedium, not adventure.
Recently I've been playing a lot of roguelikes, mainly Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Even good ol' Nethack sometimes.

I'm playing Golden Sun on my Wii U
I've just beaten the conception II for the vita ( had potential with the story but developers were really lazy with dungeon design as it was just floor after floor of the exact same rooms only changing the color for new dungeons) and just started playing demon gaze, so far its pretty good only gripe would be the leave a message for other players system which is mostly people being foul/creepy.
Yeah unfortunately there's really nothing they can do about that. Short of removing it. I haven't went online with it.
I haven't played Conception II yet. About how long did it take you?
