about to start Fallout IV and Dying Light
Thus far it just feels more clunky than the 3DS titles. I really miss the combat assist and the... social? bits between your characters. I don't care that there's no marriage and kids and such, but I really enjoyed the interactions between the characters. Really wish they had worked that into the remake. I don't feel its bad though, just used to the Fates & Awakening and how combat and such worked in them.
Got back to and beat Fire Warrior today. Had to play through the second level on a 32bit Vista machine before I could continue along on my main rig. There's an unavoidable bug that crashes the game 100% of the time.
I got the game yesterday late in the day and played it for several hours. I gotta say, while I agree that some of the missing features from Awakening and Fates I do miss, the game and the new structure is still very enjoyable.
Some new things that I love a lot include:
- Villagers from the beginning of the game (and perhaps in the future?) being able to class into any new class.
- Villagers in specific classes don't always learn the same skills, or even the same skills at the same time. This can be exciting.
- Dungeons and the ability to grind.
- Custom equipable items giving special skills to use in combat. Giving my fliers 'Swap' has been super useful.
Also, I was worried that the game had no social interactions, but during combat characters get closer to one another and gain ranks (C, B and A) after which they gain bonuses and cool dialogue. I'm not sure exactly what the benefits are yet, but I'm loving the game. Very grindy, though, but this is fine. I always wish that I could go level up just a tad more.
Sometimes, when the going gets rough, you do what you have to do to survive.
