About to beat Breath of the Wild. I've got 108 / 120 shrines, down one heart, 2 stamina meters, maxed Ancient Armor, and a full arsenal of the strongest ancient / guardian weapons.

Guardians pretty much fall in seconds when I encounter them. Lynels stand no chance.

I might just sacrifice 3 hearts (27 / 30) for max 3 stamina bars, because I love having no limits when climbing and running.

You guys know Im always full of fun stories...

So Ive been dating this girl for about a month (NOT the Daytona girl sorry!)

Shes a good looking regular girl with regular non nerd interests... It was inevitable that video games got brought up at some point. Never too sure to admit to a girl early on that I have a large collection lol.

Anyway as I always do, I ask them "didnt you or your brothers have any video games growing up?". Shes 27 so I was expecting a Nintendo, maybe she had faint memories of playing Mario.

She comes right and says "My sister and I did have a Dreamcast our dad bought us..." Almost proposed right there... Then she started saying there was this one game that her and her sister played endlessly. She couldnt remember the name.. " She started by saying... there was this guy named Ryudo... you would go into battles and take turns..." .. Honest truth I had no idea the game she was talking about which was kind of embarassing so I googled on my phone real fast... Grandia II. A game I own 2 copies of but haven't had the time to play.

So I ran into my room, brought out my copy and she was like in awe. Maybe a mix of this is weird + this is cool?

Anyway fast forward 2 weeks I admitted to her despite me being a gamer I never played it and would love to with her. So shes been bugging me to play with her, which is odd that Ive resisted. She will even ask about it midway through making out lol.

Anyway tonight I have my dreamcast set up in the living room with Grandia II. This is almost too cool and fun at the same time. Will see how it goes. She also remembers Crazy Taxi and Sonic so I brought those out too. Im not expecting tooo much. She may be totally put off by it now/bored after all these years.

I jammed a few more hours of Mana Khemia 2 today. Might actually knock this out sooner than I was thinking.

So it went ok.

I was thinking she would totally be bored watching me play it. We basically laid on my bed and played about 1.5 hours of Grandia II.

Im enjoying the story and game so far. But I tried to keep her engaged, she fell asleep near the end of our playtime and I saved it after Ryudo decides to help the priest.

But despite that she didn't play any she was clearly reading along with the story and she remembered oddly some of the lines of dialogue. She admitted she was tired but still wanted to play a little. Will see if she engages more on a different day. Even if she just wanted the bit of nostalgia and isn't interested in playing again it at least forced me to finally play it.
