Aht was cool, but the game forces you to use her for most of the game, as a result of bad game design.
the two on the game case, Jack and Ridley
The two were starting to get close then a bunch of political nonsense starts happening caused by some corrupt minor characters and the main vilians in the game

Won't go into any more detail to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn't played the game before but there's a summary of the plot on wikipedia

Not sure if I would enjoy Dragon Quarter since it is similar in this respect, and they take a lot of liberties to deviate from many standards of the BoF world. That could be a good thing, but from the outside, the game simply appears tedious and generic.
I loathe most multiplays too, that's why I recommend what I did. I had heard so many mixed things about the system I read up on it before I played, so that when I did play I never needed to restart. I finished the whole game in a single run after spending the first hour or two "farming" supplies and stocking them in the persistent inventory, and had a pretty fun time. It's nothing like the other games, but an interesting experience.

Dude wrong game. They are talking about the 3ds game Radiant Historia, not the ps2 game radiata stories of which jack and ridley are the main characters.

I felt like that was one of the more overrated ps2 jrpgs. Not so much the critic reviews but the user reviews and when I hear people talk about it they speak very highly about it. I don't think it's even a top 15 jrpg on the system maybe not top 25 but I'd have to think more about that.

Completed Lego Movie (PS4) in around 12 hours and a few more to collect everything. Much shorter and easier than I expected. Fun game if you've watched the movie. I wouldn't play it before since it basically follows the storyline.

I actually really like Radiata stories, if anything I think its one of the more underrated games, and probably one of the better stories.

The plot was barely existent and very generic though. I just found it hard to care about. While it isn't one of the worst games I've ever played I don't think it did much to stand out. Also while not a huge deal the 177 character thing is bs since there is only any remote kind of information for like 15. Suikoden is much more enriching in that regard. At least it's not a half-broken anti-user game like Eternal Poison.

I just like the main characters, Jack and Ridley so I was willing to overlook some flaws.

I still lament the fate of Suikoden and what could have been. The rumored 27 games, the truth behind the true runes, etc. That just made remember the 6 games that xenosaga was supposed to be. How the hell does garbage like Final Fantasy 13 get two sequels, while much better series like Suikoden, Bof, Mana, etc. are left to rot. I know the answer is because its FF, but its kind of sad.

I'm pretty sure that S-E really needs to turn Final Fantasy around with XV, or it is basically end of the road for the series as well. It took the better part of a decade and a half for the masses to finally recognize how far the franchise had fallen since the PS1.

Honestly, I'm not even sure that there is much of a place left for the big budget Japanese RPG anymore. A lot of console gamers will try to deny it, but the consoles of recent year haven't exactly been too kind to the Japanese RPG. Good games do exist, but they are radically different than just about everything from the PS2 era and before it.
