Thread: Class of Heroes 2 for PSP European release

Class of Heroes 2 for PSP European release

Not seeing any sort of development in this case for a while, and wanting to keep the topic separate from the actual game topic, I decided to create a new one entirely dedicated to discussing the current state of CoH 2 PSP version for European PSN. I hope Vic could find time to post updates about the situation from time to time.

Also, shedding some light on the European certification processes and such could also be discussed in this thread, in case of CoH 2 and other titles as well.

There is a negative development that affects this, but it hasn't been announced yet to my knowledge, and it's not clear if it completely obliterates the EU PSP releases or if it just makes it harder, so we have to wait until it's official and continue from there.

Thanks for answering. I guess we just have to hope for the best. It would tremendously suck if the European release can't happen after all this waiting. The whole European rating and localization processes need some serious work to be done on them. Even 5pb mentioned in their Phantom Breaker report that especially the European certification process being difficult to deal with. It is just miserable for everyone involved.

The latest news was the unveiling by Sony of this "negative development" Vic spoke of. It turned out to be this: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/...to-be-removed/

Was it really that? Does the discontinued support of the Store from the device actually affect the publishing? Like, I can buy any PSP content well enough from SEN online store, and then use the Store's download list from my PSP well enough to download the game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't understand how this thing affects the publishing work.

Well, at least to Vic it was "not clear if it completely obliterates the EU PSP releases or if it just makes it harder"

So we'll have to wait and see.

He actually answered the question in a different thread... He won't be releasing it in Europe/Aus I'm afraid

"Yes for the US/NA, but Vita's another set of certifications for SCEE that have to be done that are discrete from the US testing. This development (we got it a while ago) basically made it not worth it to keep pursuing the PSP release. We'll just concentrate on the PS3 version for EU."

Lol, that was actually me asking. I completely misread that back then.

Anyway, Tuupopopo got his answer now.

Well, ****. Almost year and a half waiting for nothing. Really, really disappointed once again, but I understand if the situation is what it is. I just hate this whole "European publishing sucks" thing in general, CoH2 was pretty much the only PSP game left that I eagerly anticipated. I understand the situation but still... so freaking lame. It just seems that every other niche release skips over Europe entirely, thank God the Rune Factory 4 thing got sorted out, even though it is a digital-only. Better than freaking nothing.

And no, I can't see myself getting PS3 version. I could have played PSP version with my PSP, Vita, and Vita TV. And I would have been OK without all the additional content if it meant we could have gotten the original for PSP. I just can't see myself playing a game like this on PS3. Not to mention not being able to use the PSP combination features unless I make an US account and start buying games from there.

It's all just so freaking lame. Can't really use any other words without resorting to profanity.
