well, now that I've gotten too lazy to edit a single post and am multiposting in this thread now. I'm actually quite surprised nobody brought up Neir. But then again, the types of people that tend to gush about it are 'games as art' hipsters so I guess it isn't so surprising.

I don't like that either. I'm okay with weird but I just didn't find that funny. I don't usually like things that are over the top.

I wouldn't say that my impressions of FF13 were overwhelmingly positive, but I played through it with my wife and we managed to finish the game without quitting. Slightly tedious in some spots and the story was kind of okay, but I still made it through and didn't feel like it was a waste of my time.

Now, Resonance of Fate we actually played for awhile and then quit because it was incredibly tedious to us and the characters/story seemed pretty bland.

You missed out on nothing, the plot doesn't go anywhere.

I just had quite a funny moment with my copy of Dragon Force on the Sega Saturn. I'm currently putting some Saturn music onto my computer, because some/many game discs double as music CDs. The Dragon Force CD just gave me a sweet little voice clip that I should remove the disc immediately or my speakers would blow up!

That's one of the "stock" ones we used (held over from the Turbografx CD era). There are some other hidden messages in other games you can only hear by ripping.

There's still a "lost" outtake video scene (the only one we've ever done where we dubbed a scene specifically as an outtake) in Vasteel. I don't even remember exactly how to get it except that you need a second controller and have to hold some buttons on the second controller at the credits.

Vasteel has proprietary compression for speech. No luck on that one (I tried a long time agi).

All of the smooth jazz is CD audio though.

Unless Vic wants to offer some hints...
