Its amazing to think the people who originally played it in Japan had it worse. I forgot what WD did, didnt they say the load times were like 9-10 seconds before battle and they were able to reduce them to like 3 seconds.

Yeah I remember then saying with Rayearth they basically had to decompile stuff from the release to get it functioning as well.

I don't even know that you could really decompile that stuff. More like disassemble and piece it back after identifying all of the SuperH instructions. Programmer would have been a real wizard and dedicated to do that.

I think Rayearth had huge swaths of code missing so they had to basically reconstruct the game. I think Vic mentioned somewhere here or somewhere that his main Saturn programmer was a wizard and actually helped push him to still release years after they first got the rights. The diaries were completely new and added to the game as well.

Part of the rewrite fixed some performance issues as well. I remember specifically that they fixed slowdown in some of the busier sections.

    Thanks for the tips.

Were any of the TG16 games worth talking about?

Parasol Stars isn't bad for what it is. Those three are the best though since Exile 2 is so overpriced and broken.

For some reason I thought Parasol Stars was on the Bubble Bobble featuring Rainbow Islands for Saturn/PS1 then just read on wiki that it was supposed be but it was dropped for some reason.

Bubble bobble 3 is oddly the least mangled Working Designed game ever.
