It is expensive however. Though obviously not as expensive as buying good US games or pricier JP shmups.

I honestly don't see what's wrong with Sony's localization of Grandia. It's at least within the competence of what was expected of the late 90s. Nothing in it strikes me as a particularly embarrassing effort. I guess the real beef is that it's a significant downgrade from the Saturn version but there's nobody to blame on that front other than the people who handled the port.

If all you knew was the PS1 port then it was ok. But at the time of its release it had alot wrong. Released two years after the Saturn version. Horrible dubbing. Significant performance and visual downgrade (again 2 years later to boot)

The change from bars to coffee shops was a so-bad-it's-good sort of thing. Rather than the world of Grandia having characters that stayed up drunk all night, they had a bunch of people who drank so much coffee they were wired and couldn't sleep.

    Meth lite. lol

Man, this is a long thread o.0

Whats the material the Arc the Lad watch is made from? I just found mine. I had it in this leather pocket watch case and the leather went black, and there's black crap all over the watch now. Any idea on the best way to clean it?

Man Sega... I sort of think Index should just split Sega up, or make them just a publisher, and move Creative Assembly, the Sonic Team, and the other development groups into their own small companies under Index.

I forget if I mentioned this in another thread, but the first two Langrissers were ported to Windows, why not translate them and put them on GoG and Steam, with a limited physical release?

One other question: I know its too late now, but did you and if you did, what blocked you from releasing WD's Turbographix games on the Wii Virtual Console service?

You've got it backwards, Sega is the parent of Index.

My bad, though is the mismanagement all the way to the top? At the end of the day, they need the right people that understand how to macro-manage a conglomerate, and split up studios so each studio is the right size to use their talents to succeed in making great games. Part of the reason the Dreamcast library was so brilliant was because the dev teams basically did their own thing (They were their own subsidiary companies).

I'd buy them, but the money probably isn't there.

Probably a rights issue, but I'd be interested to hear from Vic on this as well.

Yup, and I would bet the reason Sega doesn't put their older games on Steam is because they're afraid of failure. They seem almost paralyzed by the possibility of failure on so much stuff anymore that they don't branch out as much. Makes me sad for the current company, but at least I've got my memories, and ebay.
