It depends on how you define "good." If you're just looking at it purely as an action RPG, each installment ranges from poor to solid in that aspect, and I wouldn't recommend it. The characters in 3, Frontier, and Tides of Destiny are fun, but not really great, and the storylines are fairly simple. What makes the series stand out is how well they married the life sim gameplay of Harvest Moon to the action RPG gameplay. You get up in the morning, work the fields, tend your monster companions/livestock, maybe chat with some townspeople, and then head off to a dungeon to kill things with your wife. That's what makes the games fun.
"Life is a serious battle, and you have to use the tools you're given. It's more important to master the cards you're holding than to complain about the ones your opponents were dealt." — Grimsley, Pokémon Black/White 2

I'm playing Persona 2: Eternal Punishment on PSP, and trying to find the motivation to finish Xenosaga Episode 2.

Really digging Persona 2 so far, but it's *way* too easy.

Yeah, but you will notice a sudden spike in difficulty about halfway when all demons get mamudo and mahama skills. @_@ It is really annoying. Once you get past that, though it stays fairly easy.

Right now I'm finishing up Torchlight (at least, I think it's almost finished? .-.), and trying to play through Croc. I say trying because the bosses in that game are evil :l Not really because they are challenging, but mostly because the controls are a bit awkward... Not sure if it's me or the game though as it's my very first PS1 game.
Oh and also playing Picross 3D from time to time.

Fire Emblem 3DS for me; loving every second of it. I've always got a bunch of games opened and waiting, but that's the one I'm really picking away at.

Currently wrapping up a complete playthrough of Ridge Racers as my own personal celebration of the 20th anniversary. I'm at the Max Tour/Opus circuits now, so my progress will be considerably slowed. LOL

Chipping away at Ys II, usually on my work breaks. Hoping to have I & II Chronicles and The Oath in Felghana done by the time Celceta comes out this fall.

Of course Fire Emblem: Awakening is always a thing with me, too.

Just started playing Crusader of Centy on the Genesis today. It's actually a pretty decent Zelda clone with a couple of ideas of its own.

I just finished Lunar 2, so I think I'll play Valkyrie Profile while I'm on this PSone kick.

    PS2: Wild Arms 4
PS3: Ni No Kuni / Rayman Origins
    Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga
    Sega CD: Shining Force CD
    Genesis: MUSHA

I switch among many--it's hard to focus on one game these days!
