Lol, not really. I was charging $15 per replacement and I would meet you someplace, with an extra soldering iron I had and the batteries, do the swap (sometimes in my car powering the iron with a simple power invertor) , clean the pins and even back up your team in the meantime if they really wanted it. I figured it was a good deal to help people keep their games alive and I made a bit of extra cash in the process.

The other guy was offering to do it for like $5 and my mindset was, "if your time is worth that little to you go for it". Obviously he realized it wasn't a good opportunity for him.

Need a battery replaced? Creepy guy meets you in a parking lot with a soldering iron. "You got the game kid?"

I was already charging a pretty low rate so I'm sure he realized he was wasting his time at what he was charging.
It always gives me great satisfaction when I see that or similar things happen. It used to be all about the Nintendo stuff until a few months of my Sega posting being up and all the Nintendo buyers added stuff about Sega. No one has ever copied my PC listing but, people are flaky as hell and it usually goes nowhere except wasting time because someone wants way too much for disc only junk.

Lol, I drive an older Corolla. I would also have people drop games off downtown where I work, I'll do the change that night and then meet them back downtown for pickup and payment. I've also done modchip installs for folks that way, I really don't want people coming over to my house (or going to theirs) so doing work out of my car is an easy compromise.

So what you are saying is that I can drop some stuff off when I come to Denver and then pick it up when I am heading out of town and you will do modwork for me???

I don't do a ton of modwork anymore due to time constraints and parts, but if you need a Saturn modchip I can definitely help you out

If you're going from Utah to Denver I'm not sure you'll be going through my neck of the woods though.
