Grandia 2 HD on August 24, $20 (25% off sale at launch)

Enhanced port of Grandia 2 comes out next week. Beyond just being able to play a decent version of the game without owning a Dreamcast (the PS2 & old PC ports were bad), I'm really excited about the new harder difficulty.

So, did they fix the low res UI and text they showed in screens before?

I'm sure not all elements will be truly upgraded to HD. Would take way too much work.

Asking for font that is designed to run at resolutions above 640x480 is hardly 'way too much work'.

Too expensive for a digital copy. I'll stick to my shoddy non-HD Grandia II PC disc.

Really? $15 for an enhanced version of a classic RPG is too expensive? Plus, they're probably using sales of this to decide whether or not to do anything more ambitious with the series (like full-blown remakes & sequels).

I think I paid like €2 to €3 on average for the digital games that I "rent" from the different digital providers.

$15 is more than 5 times what I usually pay. So yeah, too expensive. I would pay more than $15 for a physical copy though, preferably a DRM free one.

So buy a DRM-free copy from GOG and then burn it to your own disk. There, you've got a physical copy.
