    Complain-about-the-digital-age thread

Thread title says it all. There's a lot not to like about this wonderful digital age. And it keeps popping up regularly in other threads, so we might as well group our experiences in one thread.

To start off, I just read about the day one patch for the new Tony Hawk game.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 day one patch is larger than game’s actual size

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is a very small game by today’s standards. So small in fact that its day one patch is much bigger than its base size.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 comes out today on old and new-gen systems. The game can now be pre-loaded on PlayStation 4 if you have it pre-ordered.

Surprisingly, Pro Skater 5’s base size is only 4.6GB and there’s a day one patch. The patch is 7.7GB, which rivals many of today’s games, but even more so when you consider its already small size.

Pro Skater 5 has undergone an art style change recently, which resulted in fans losing a considerable bit of hope as to the final game’s quality.

Don’t expect to see many reviews for the game today, as Activision has not sent copies to outlets.

    Gotta love this stuff.

Edit: also the game reportedly is "a glitchy mess", even after that patch. Footage at the link.

    (not reading)
Sounds a bit like Forza 5 was. Half finished and you must download the rest inorder to play it. If not, it still seems like a very bad practice.

Bottom line: It's going to creep up more and more. We can't do much about it, so there's no point in complaining when games are digital only and not physical in certain regions.

I agree with the first part of your statement but not with the rest. As long as someone thinks they can make money off physical products, they will continue to produce them. Also, if you don't say anything, they may not know that anyone cares. If you like physical releases saying not to complain about digital only releases is bad advice IMO.

Probably helps more to buy physical than to not buy digital. I didn't buy the digital only Euro release of SMT IV, but I doubt anyone at Atlus noticed. Then again they don't notice a whole lot there in their ivory tower.

    This.
I doubt most companies do notice. *IF* more didn't buy something then maybe. But they might just think it sucks and stop the series.

You're thinking five steps ahead with that tier one post, and I'm too dumb to get where this is going.
