I don't know how it would work. My understanding is they take a game on a preexisting system and put it on a phyiscal cartridge. Ie breach and clear does a have a digital for the psp vita. But I don't think they can go and make suikoden II on the ps4 just because its on the psn.
And for the record I also prefer Warrior to Quest.
I don't think it's as simple as burning the iso/rom image to a blank Vita card and produce it that way. Or is it? Dooes LRG anticipate legal backlash, or are the games chosen already in agreement with all parties involved?
Pretty sure they are getting approval from each company and discussing the quantity. I've seen them say they aren't able to get big name titles yet since they are just starting.
We have signed agreements with all developers and publishers that we work with. We have to go through a full process with Sony that requires concept submission, artwork approval, QA, and production. There's a weird misconception out there that our releases are homebrew or unofficial due to the lack of the ESRB rating. That's not the case, we have clearance from Sony's legal department to forgo the rating. It costs $5,000 and is only required if you go to retail. There's no way to make your own Vita cards or burn your own PS4 discs. Everything we're putting out is totally legit and part of the official library for their respective consoles.
I don't think that really had anything to do with what you were discussing, but wanted to put it out there again.![]()
More on point for the discussion, most games can't just be taken from Digital to Card. They have to have some options tweaked on the master file so they have to built again and sent through Sony's QA before they can be manufactured.
Oddly enough, Sony can still manufacture PS2 games - I haven't asked but I wouldn't be surprised if they still were able to manufacture PS1 games.
Well Marilin Manson used PS1 discs for his cd earlier this year. So they can it seems.
Do I ask if Vic is going to do a PS2 game now?
