The general tone comes off as poor. I don't think anyone needs LRG to tell them they can choose to pass on things or this or that has reviewed well. Companies seem to forget that they need customers to exist.
Edit: Metacritic scores are a tenuous gauge at best. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to find a few high scoring games (or low scoring) that someone dislikes/likes and elicit a 'reviews don't matter' comment.

True. I think "those people" are getting caught up in the gotta have it all mentality, and are burned out about constant flood of releases, myself included.
Pretty sure they already are.
Was going to be a couple games a month or every couple weeks. Lately it's been about twice that plus cds/albums and alt covers. Good games or not the number of things to buy is pushing the limits for many people.
The call of the money train is hard to resist.
