My only interest is in ripping them. I need to get a better chain at some point.

I'd like an easy way to rip at some point. I have a digital player now but I have to manually hit the button to start/stop so I can't really do song by song nicely.
Mostly just to get some music to a digital format thats not on cds.

I don't know much about digital players. I think FiiO has some cheap ones that are alright.

Assuming you mean digital audio players? If you mean ripping records I do an entire side then cut it into tracks after.

I probably wasn't clear enough.
One of the record players I have will record itself (has a usb/sd slot). I know that's not optimal.
Years back I had tried to record from an actual player to pc using headphone jack to pc input. Kept being way too staticy so I gave that up. Never sorted it out if it was the player/needle/vinyls or what (or my not knowing what to do).

I am hoping to get a player setup in the same room with my gaming stuff so I can just play from the records.

I never understood the appeal of non-1st party mascot platformers, even as a kid. The Barbie NES game is cool though because it's weird, difficult, and high on some next level CONTRAband.

I certainly I am. I was their core demographic for awhile but like you said I've gotten much more selective recently. When I boarded the LRG oh so long ago I didn't expect there to be purchase stops almost every other week.
