I actually like the case/booklet/backart. So the whole thing they made. If it was just the case I wanted for a replacement I wouldn't care.
Im just not sure Id ever see anyone piece it out so I could get just that.
Game is worth $40, Maybe Id put $30 value on their case/manual/backart because its neat and exclusive. So Id probably want to recoup $60 for the rest of the goods I guess.
Was what I meant. Not worth the effort just for the case alone.
I still don't see why they aren't putting a soundtrack cd in those cases. Or a cd w/something related. Like hey have an empty case. Wooooo
Im wondering most why they haven't released the cases for bulk sale yet. That Kotaku article said they spent something like 100k just making the moulds. Just to use for a couple LEs? I get they felt burned by that guy who was making them in China but why just give up. I think if they release theirs people will prefer the quality.
Have they figured how to ship them? I'd think they need someone else to handle that as it seems the 2 people who ship the games are always busy. Maybe even sell the via amazon/ebay.
Do people have any of those cases in hand yet from the LEs? Are they better?
I'm curious about this too. I was wanting to pick up some cases, but maybe I should just look into getting those Chinese ones?
I just spotted a longbox PS1 PGA Tour 96 at a thiftstore for $5 and snapped it up just for the case. The case even has a crack in the front, but the hinges are intact, so it was the best deal I've seen in the last decade.
The guy who sells them on Amazon from China actually revised them so they are better now from what Ive heard. His price is also cheap. I feel like they might be worth it now although I haven't tried any of the 2nd version yet.
As for the Limited Run ones, I guess because they were produced in the US they will cost at least double if they are ever released in bulk. I imagine they are near perfect with all the damn money they spent on them.
That Kotaku article last year about the "great Sega CD/Saturn case war" almost made it sound like LRG were so disappointed they were beaten to the punch that they were going to just give up. If I spent $100k on something Id still sell the damn things.
Yeah but didn't the LRG ones leave the wording off?
