I will say this. If a remaster is done right. I enjoy it.

Great example is Doom 64. I love that game. One of my all time favorites. The current Switch/Ps4 release is perfect. All or any upgrades only enhance the game.

I love the original Panzer Dragoon on Saturn even if the 2 after it are better/improved...

That being said it shouldn't have been to hard to keep the game very similar with graphical upgrades... I havent watched any videos or seen any reviews yet but Id like to hear them from people who are fans of the original. Not sure I want a review by a 22 year old who doesn't know the original.

EDIT: I just read destructoids review and it reads exactly how id expect it. The game is a graphical upgrade but not a mechanical one. In theory PD1 was more proof of concept (as even they said) compared to Zwei, so expectations in general should be kept within the limits of the original game to begin with)'

It sounds like the controls are basically the exact same as the Saturn release but that this may actually bother modern gamers... So year basically what I was thinking. I feel like I will enjoy this quite a bit still.

I dont LOVE the 24.99 tag... Like I said earlier, Doom 64s great remaster (although its a remaster and not a remake which takes longer to produce...) was only $4.99! So cheap I bought it for both Switch and PS4. Its the only reason I havent bought PD right away and might even wait for my physical release since I bought 1 of each edition from LRG...

I think the open preorder is because they need money now. Buy making it essentially "unlimited" they can sell a ton and still have revenue coming in during the current lockdown.

Wooo, 3000 copies of the LE, available May 28. I don't see prices anywhere though.

The IP is run by Iffy so unless they bow to censorship pressure they'll probably release it, then sell stock through LRG like they did with Mary Skelter and other recent stuff.

I don't recall any Iffy titles going EAS and then getting picked up by LRG? EAS is doing a non-LE release too, which doesn't look to be a limited run.

It sounds like EAS is doing the US physical this time? Exclusively through PlayAsia?

The hell, PA never dropped prices in advance AFAIK. Not that it's a horrible price, but their releases usually have free shipping. This is kinda steep, and has $10USD shipping. What's the point in being a crappy Hong Kong outfit if you can't do cheap shipping?
So yeah, the thing costs like $100CAD, when I was expecting something like $60.

They announced that their new exclusives will no longer have free shipping some days ago. I guess the shipping business has been getting more difficult with all this situation.

It's been a long-standing policy to permit subsidized shipping from China, but charge insane shipping rates back in the other direction. It absolutely needs to be changed.
